My Summary of The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis

The book, The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis is a great book about the life of a Afghan girl named Parvana. Her town was taken over by the Taliban and they have arrested  her father. She tries her best to support the family with  the help of her mother and older sister. Parvana was found by a Taliban roaming the market in search for food and a chase began. She managed to outrun the Talib; When she reached home, she shaved her head and named herself Kaseem. Kaseem goes to the market once more; She isn't seen by the Taliban! This plan was very successful leading to making lots of money. her sister leaves the town to get married so Parvana is alone. She finds her Father laying outside prison all beaten up. I really like this book and would recommend it to people who enjoy the genre: Historical Fiction.
